You need a schedule.

Believe it or not, a cleaning schedule will make life a whole lot easier. A cleaning schedule doesn’t add hassle and stress to the house. It actually takes it away.

If you never know what the next job is, then you are lost. Subconsciously your mind is your worst enemy. You start reorganizing or clean over what it has already been done. You end up confused and in a constant state of not knowing what to do next. This is just draining.

You need to create a daily, weekly, and monthly calendar.

Things you do daily should be. Wipe the bathroom surfaces, wipe all of the kitchen surfaces, empty dishwasher, if you can – 1 load of washing, empty kitchen bin, and general pick up and tidy.

2 – 3 times a week should be. Vacuum, Mop Kitchen Floor, Clean Toilets, Water Plants if any, run errands.

Weekly Cleaning Schedule should be.

Empty all bins around the house, Polish, Ironing, Change Towels, Bedding Sheets and clean out refrigerator.

Monthly Cleaning Schedule should be. Clean windows inside and out, vacuum and wash car, main food shopping, menu planning, deep cleaning, check alarm smoke, clean out closets, check under your bed (vacuum if you have to) and check under your sofa (always vacuum).

This by all means is not your infinite list, but hopefully give you an idea of the sort of tasks that would fit in each category.

Remember, there is no right or wrong way, just what you are capable of doing at your speed. Some folks just need to clean a lot more frequently than others, some have less people in the household and need less cleaning. Everyone’s need is different, and your ideal timings for how often they are done may also be different result.

The most important factor is that you should now be able to look at your list and decide what needs to be done. Everything is there, checklist is there for a purpose. This allows you fall back into control.

So now that you have written everything on calendar. The rest is up to you to achieve and conquer. We alway overestimate what we can get done in a set amount of time. Which can so easily lead to disappointment.
