Terrazzo Restoration Cost

Terrazzo restoration pricing can be complicated. The cost can range from $1.00 per square foot to more than $5.00 per square foot. Some have been quoted as high as $8.00 per square foot. “How can the price for the same thing vary so much?” you might wonder. That is straightforward. “You get what you pay for,” as the old adage goes. It would be wonderful if it were that simple, but in general, that is the case here. Some will charge $1.00 or less per square foot to simply clean or strip your terrazzo.

They may then apply a topical sealer or finish. The disadvantage of this is that dirt and stains will remain on your floor. The floor will need to be redone every year or so and will easily scratch. Most terrazzo floors would not have been covered if that system had worked properly. You could pay someone to grind the floor and coat it after 200 grit for a little more. This system can clean the floor, but it will darken over time, scratch easily, and will need to be tripped and redone every year or so. Terrazzo Tile can be tricky. It’s more complex than marble polishing restoration.

You can get a floor done with polishing powders, a recrystallized floor, or a diamond polished floor for around $3.00-$8.00 per square foot. When polishing powders are used, the floor may be ground with meal bond diamonds and then honed with diamonds. The floor is then gradually polished with polishing powders of increasing grits. These powders make use of acids as well as finer and finer grits. They will need to be buffed every few years.

These floors will eventually need to be redone. Recrystallized terrazzo floors are also available in this price range. These floors are typically completed in up to 400 grits before an acid is used to change the top of the terrazzo floor. To keep their luster, these floors should be rebuffed every one or two years. These floors will eventually need to be completely redone. But the one we believe is the very best process is the one below. Terrazzo Restoration in Coconut Grove chooses Keep It Clean Carpets and Tile everytime.

Diamond polishing, in my opinion, is the best and most long-lasting way to restore terrazzo. Diamond polished floors that are polished to a high shine typically last eight to ten years under normal use and rarely need to be completely redone. After eight to ten years, the floors only require polishing grits. The majority of companies that perform in-house terrazzo restoration use a buffer to polish the floor. There is no water or topical sealers in our system. Our prices are competitive in our industry and reasonable when compared to areas outside of Miami. Remember, many companies charge the same or more than us, but only spend a fraction of what we do to restore the floor.
