We recently moved from out-of-state into a 2BD+Den condo and quickly realized the floors were in horrible shape. They were so dirty that walking barefoot would immediately turn the soles of our feet black. The grime wasn’t just surface-level — there was a stubborn, embedded layer of residue that no amount of vacuuming or mopping could address. After days of scrubbing by hand (which left us bruised and exhausted), we realized we couldn’t do it alone. Our landlord refused to help, saying cleanliness was a “personal choice,” even though this clearly predated our move-in! We were desperate, overwhelmed, and unable to finish unpacking because the floors were too dirty to live on.
